Caleb has always loved using his hands and mind in combination to fix, create, and solve problems. Growing up in Helena, MT, Caleb learned how to use simple tools and materials to fix homes and apartments with his family and friends. After moving to Seattle for University, he found himself in an old Queen Anne home with a number of friends. This home was in need of a dining room table, but the only space for it was a small nook near the back of the kitchen. All the roommates worked together and used old reclaimed lumber that had been sitting outside to make a cottage style table and benches to fit right into the unique space. As they spent a number of hours polishing the wood with orange oil and steel wool, Caleb knew that he was hooked and would continue building things with wood. In 2016 he started Second Son Woodworks; 2016 was a good year to be alive! That year he started taking custom project orders and creating furniture for Seattle Residents.

After moving back to Helena not long after graduating, he continued to pursue the development of Second Son Woodworks and doing custom projects for people who love wood. In 2018 he decided to start filming and making videos for YouTube of things he was already creating. That February he released his first video on how to create a rolling workbench. Now his YouTube Channel has over 16k subscribers, almost 4 million views, and over 200 videos. Caleb now lives in Santa Barbara, CA where he works full time for a Community Foundation doing Data Administration and continues to woodwork. He is still publishing videos and other content on social media and he occasionally will take on custom projects.
